The Great Gatsby (2013) - “One of Baz’s main design directives for the look and feel of this particular movie was that he didn’t want a nostalgic, sepia-toned New York City of the 1920s. He wanted the New York we created to feel as vibrant, modern, and cutting-edge as it would have felt to Fitzgerald in 1922.“ - Catherine Martin, Production Designer

she asks her mother “is that the song of the moon I hear?” she looks to the moon to drown all her fears. she says the stars light up underneath her bed and fight off the monsters hiding in her closet. she has no fear as soon as the moon appears. she hums along with the symphony the stars orchestrate. sweet little girl, never feel alone. the moon will always be there, right behind your shoulders. in the middle of the night she’d look out her window, thank the sky for being there when everything else was falling.
